YAG Calendar

Sunday services at FirstParish (3 Church Street, Harvard Square) start at 10:30, followed by a coffee hour. The Young Adult Group meets informally for lunch every Sunday after the coffee hour. This is an easy way to meet people and find out more about YAG.

Spiritual Discussion

Hi Friends! This Tuesday (Sept 16) at First Parish (7:30pm) YAG is
holding its monthly Spiritual Discussion.

This month's topic is ritual. What rituals do we hold to in our daily
lives, work, families, friendships and church? How do our rituals
constrict us? How do they ground us and add richness and joy to our
lives?

Greg and I are co-facilitating and everyone (friends, roommates,
newcomers, oldtimers) is welcome.

Please direct questions to Greg or to me (sjmeyerhoff@hotmail.com)

See you then!

Habitat for Humanity!

Hey there home-happy folks –

If you’ve been looking for a hurricane-free activity, I have the answer for you!

This Saturday we are ON for Habitat – we’ll be working in Dorchester. As of last week, the house had “wall frames” being put in, lots of hammering being done, and pieces of floor (and stairs) missing. So, please come on out and show off your hammering, measuring, and cooperation skills (equipment provided).

Saturday, September 20th, 8:30-3:30 (partial days okay if you have another commitment).

Or meet at the church at 8am for a ride over. (If you can drive, please let me know…)

What to bring: lunch, beverage, work gloves (if you have them), grubby clothes.

Friends/ family welcome (must be 18+). Hope to see you then!

8 Ball Potluck

Come on Saturday @ 7 to the First Parish for a YAG potluck. Please
bring something to share.

What makes it a "Magic 8 Ball" Potluck? Suffice to say you should
bring some questions you want answered!...good food, good
conversation, a fun time, nuff said. The potluck starts and ends
early enough so as not to interfere with late evening plans.

This would also be good time for anyone attending who wants to host
an October event to get talk about it and/or get it on the calendar.

See you Saturday.

Paul

Worship: Meditation

This Tuesday evening (9/30) at 7:30 pm, we will be gathering at First Parish for a worship centered on meditation.

Whether you have never tried to meditate before, or are an experienced follower of a certain practice, all are welcome to join us as we explore several forms of quieting the mind and attaining a state of inner peace.

I will give an introduction on each practice so please don't feel uncomfortable about any lack of experience, or if meditation has
never "worked" for you in the past. Both silent and guided meditation styles will be part of this worship.

I look forward to seeing all of you Tuesday night!

Please email me with any questions or suggestions at gspeters23@yahoo.com.
