Wednesday, February 27 Discussion "YAG & Activism" Let's discuss and plan out outreach activities for YAG to do. Bring ideas and be prepared to make them happen. I'll bring info on The Food Project.
| ||||||
Saturday, March 2 Diplomacy Game Test your ambassadorial skills (and also get to know other YAG’ers)! Diplomacy is an all-day game full of both cooperation and deception, but in the end, lots of fun.
| ||||||
Sunday, March 3 Super Bowl Party Come alone or with a friend or with food and beverage. Join me in watching some exciting NFL action!... and the commercials, of course.
| ||||||
Wednesday, March 6 Intergenerational Men's Discussion Group We will gather at 7 p.m. for socializing; discussion will begin promptly at 7:30.
| ||||||
Friday, March 8 Games Night Come for a fun-filled night of Mafia (crazy psychological non-board game kind of like Murder In the Dark) and other non-board games. Bring your own game ideas!
| ||||||
Saturday, March 9 Hiking Come to the church, and we’ll decide then where to go. Come dressed for the weather! Waterproof footwear is important.
| ||||||
Wednesday, March 13 Healing Touch Anyone with any interest and/or experience in massage, Reiki, or other healing techniques can come practice with us. Please bring any related literature to share. You may want to bring a towel, yoga mat, or sleeping bag to be more comfortable in this loving session.
| ||||||
Friday, March 15 Self Disclosure, Friendship, etc. A Discussion Ever have that experience of feeling as if you’ve told other people too much about yourself? Or how about feeling as if someone takes things for granted around you, and it’s time for things to change? Then there’s the times when someone may want to tell other people about something kind of personal for the sake of personal and social growth. Let’s get together to talk about these kinds of situations (and more), and what they mean to us.
| ||||||
Sunday, March 17 Planning Meeting Come with plenty of ideas, and help us fill the April calendar with a variety of activities that reflect the YAG mission statement!
| ||||||
Wednesday, March 20 Intergenerational Women’s Discussion Group The next Intergenerational Women's Discussion Group will take place at First Parish on Wednesday, March 20 at 7PM. We would love to have women of all ages join us for yet another lively and thoughtful discussion. We will be discussing the article from the latest UUWorld Magazine, "Violence and Doctrine" which is by Rita Brock and Rebecca Parker. The synopsis is a powerful one: "Christianity has disastrously misinterpreted Jesus' death, leaving a legacy of violence." This article focuses especially on women's psychology within Christianity's patriarchal structure, and is particularly (and poignantly) relevant in light of today's headlines/controversy about the Yates trial. You can read the article online at http://www.uua.org/world/index.html, or you can ask Janet Hayes at the UUA to mail you a copy of the magazine if you send your snail mail address to her at jhayes@uua.org The discussion will be led by Amy Cooper and Sara Gibb. Sarah Gibb is currently a student at Harvard Divinity School, and Amy Cooper has a master's degree in Religious Studies. Please contact Amy or Sara if you have any questions.
| ||||||
Friday, March 22 Taize Singing Join us as we sing simple songs as a form of prayer and meditation. No previous experience necessary. Come to be in community.
| ||||||
Friday, March 29 Worship For YAGs Let the spirit move you during this unique worship service. Bring your poetry, song, and/or other forms of expression to share during this special ceremony.
| ||||||
Saturday, March 30 10-Pin Bowling Come bowl like they do in other parts of the country. Pick a ball that fits your fingers and that you can lift easily, strap on some sexy bowling shoes, and hurl the ball at oddly shaped pins. Open to pool afterwards.

Monday, April 1 Food Drive Over the course of this month, YAG sponsored a church-wide food drive to benefit the Greater Boston Food Bank. Organizers set a goal of collecting 10 boxes of food, found out how many meals that would serve, then used that fact in advertising. Collections were set up three Sundays in a row, with a different person in charge of collections each time. Each Sunday, they focused on collecting items from a different food group. Organizers drew 10 boxes on a large piece of paper, then colored them in as they were collected. They displayed the poster each Sunday when making announcements at church.

Wednesday, April 3 Intergenerational Men's Discussion Group Main Entry: pa·tri·ot·ism Pronunciation: 'pA-trE-&-"ti-z&m, chiefly British 'pa- Function: noun Date: circa 1726 : love for or devotion to one's country From www.M-W.com The dictionary provides a simple definition for a complex subject. Patriotism has risen in the public consciousness since the attacks of September 11th. Few people think of themselves as UN-patriotic, but many are not entirely comfortable with excessive displays of patriotism. Are there positive and negative aspects of patriotism? What does patriotism mean to us as men? Please come and discuss this important topic. When: Wednesday April 3, 7:30 PM Where: First Parish, The Barn Room For more information contact: Steve Gregoire 617.733.6648

Friday, April 5 Danceplex Put on your dancin’ duds and shake your booty to 70s, 80s, and today’s music at Danceplex. Come before 10 p.m., and get in for free! After 10 p.m., cover is $10. You must be at least 19-years-old to get in. Stay tuned for pre event meetup info.

Saturday, April 6 Fish Bowl Discussion Topic: TBA. A fishbowl involved separating into two groups, such as males and females. Each group gets together and writes down questions for the other group. Then the groups get back together and the first group sits in the middle of the circle, while the second groups sits on the outside. The group in the middle reads and discusses the questions, while the outside group must stay quiet. Then they switch. A way to find out all those secrets about what the opposite sex really thinks!
