Librarian/Historian Job Aid

Desired Results:
- The YAG bulletin board at the church has current information relevant to the YAG mission.
- Newcomers have a useful and informative flyer available to them.
- The job descriptions and a list of YAG leaders are up to date and kept in a safe place at the church.
- YAG follows up with newcomers who fill out visitor cards and check YAG related interest boxes.
- The YAG storage area and paper materials are kept organized.
Guidelines:
- Commit for at least 4 months. Let wheel committee know in advance of desire to step down.
- Participate with the wheel group in providing orientations to incoming librarians/historians.
- Work as a team with other YAG organizers.
- Keep in mind our mission statement and our UU principles.
- Document information or wisdom learned from doing job on this job aide

Visitor Cards
- Visitors can fill out a visitor card. It looks like this (click to enlarge):    Outside:

- There are two YAG related boxes:
- one to express interest in YAG, and
- one get on our email list.
- If one of the boxes is checked, the card or a copy of it will be placed in our mailbox. (in the first floor office located on the right as you walk in the church's side entrance, across from the stairs-the mail slots are on your right as you walk in the room)
- The mailbox should be checked every Sunday if possible by somebody. The librarian should promote this happening or check it when he/she attend church. All the information on the card (including address, phone numbers) should go to the librarian who can choose whether or not to include the info in the YAG directory. If the person checks off the box to be added to the email list, forward the email to one of the list serve moderators. The librarian should also write to the person/or have someone else do this, thanking them for coming, telling them brief brochure like information about YAG, and inviting them to ask any questions.
