Wednesday, May 2 Intergenerational Men's Discussion Group From Oedipus to Freud to the replicant in the opening scene of Blade Runner, men everywhere have had difficulties with their mothers. What is up with that? What is the nature of the bond to this person whom we have known longer than anyone else? What do we owe her; what do we need from her; what can we learn from her? How can we re-create our relationship with her as one between two adults? Part of a two-part series on parents. The men's discussion group is open to all men, regardless of age or sexual orientation. Participants are encouraged to bring pictures of their mothers. IMPORTANT NOTE: Last month we made a significant breakthrough in identifying a recurring trend in "conversation energy distribution" in our discussions over the course of the allotted two hours and realized we needed more time to capitalize on the "second wind" phenomenon. Therefore we will be starting PROMPTLY at 7 p.m., instead of the unwritten but traditional 7:15.

Friday, May 11 Discussion Topic: "Leaving and Arriving at Friendship" Have you ever had a sleepless night remembering friends and family left behind in life? Have you thrived in moving to a new place and meeting new faces? This discussion is about exploring how the bonds of friendship are made, kept, and broken as we make our journey through life... how we get in touch, how we keep in touch, and why often we don't keep in touch in friendship.
