YAG Calendar |
Sunday services at FirstParish (3 Church Street, Harvard Square) start at 10:30, followed by a coffee hour. The Young Adult Group meets informally for lunch every Sunday after the coffee hour. This is an easy way to meet people and find out more about YAG. |

About the calendar These are currently planned young adult group and selected church wide events. Newcomers are always welcome to events. If you have any questions please contact the listed contact or youngadults@firstparishcambridge.org. The calendar is subject to change so check back here and watch the YAG announcement list. For more information on First Parish chuch wide events, visit the church's site. Interested in hosting an event? Please take quick read through how to host an event. Childcare is provided upon request with 10 days notice for events at the church. The church office provides a list of approved childcare providers. There is no charge to the parent. Wednesday, February 4 Cambridge Forum: John Buehrens Former president of the Unitarian Universalist Association and special assistant to the secretary general of the World Conference of Religions for Peace, discusses his progressive book on interpreting the Bible. Designed to reclaim the scripture from literalists, he explores the best contemporary, literary, political and feminist readings in the quest to foster a movement toward tolerance and humanity.

Friday, February 6 Food & Candlepin Bowling
Meet at 6PM to grab a bite to eat at Picante Mexican Grill, 217 Elm Street (near the Rosebud diner). Then at 7PM, to Sacco's Bowl Haven, 45 Day Street. Sacco's is a classic, old-fashioned candlepin bowling alley. If you're new to New England and haven't played candlepin, you're in for a cultural surprise!

The Healing Touch Group is a wonderful and welcoming gathering of folks interested in creating a safe space for sharing the natural healing power of human touch. No professional massage experience is necessary. If you like to give and receive theraputic and spiritual bodywork, such as massage or Reiki, come join us. Each evening begins with a centering and relaxing meditation.

Valentine's Day is coming! If you've been either anticipating OR dreading the big day, here is an opportunity for you! Come serve dinner at Rosie’s Place – “a safe haven for poor and homeless women”. We’ll prepare dinner, serve dinner, clean up, play with the kids, etc. Dinner is included.

Wednesday, February 25 Dennis Kucinich at First Parish
Progressive Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich will be in Cambridge on Wednesday, February 25th! There will be a "warm-up" at Club Passim at 3PM, he'll speak at Harvard Law School from 4-6 PM and then, on to First Parish at 7PM. I'll probably be there at 6PM to be early for this progressive visionary. He is consistently the most liberal, progressive candidate in the Democratic field, and should have intersting things to say that align with our liberal UU values.
