Sunday, March 30 Scavenger Hunt For those brave souls who want to forage through the back allies of harvard square, walk up to strangers and ask to try on their glasses, think about what object would best represent the phrase "a funky monkey," or just take pictures of yaggers doing such crazy things... This sunday after lunch (1:30) I'm organizing a scavenger hunt, complete with prizes, for those interested. It should take about 1 1/2 hours - it's just around harvard sq - it's free - and creativity counts. Everyone is welcome. If you are interested, PLEASE EMAIL ME so I get a sense of numbers for teams/polaroid cameras/prizes.

Monday, April 7 Intergenerational Women's Discussion Group In light of the current situation in the Middle East, our gathering this month will be a forum for us to discuss the various feelings/emotions/concerns that have been coming up for us in this time of global crisis. Many of us have been experiencing growing feelings of powerlessness, sadness, even anger as the war continues. Some have been eager to engage in conversations about the war. Others have felt more drawn to avoiding discussions. Some are following the news headlines carefully. Others are feeling a real need to limit what they take in. You are wamly invited to come share a safe space and opportunity to express your feelings and concerns with other women at First Parish.
Facilitator: Dorianne Low, dlow@minlib.net

Tuesday, April 8 Intergenerational Healing Touch Group The Healing Touch Group is a wonderful and welcoming gathering of folks interested in creating a safe space for sharing the natural healing power of human touch. No professional massage experience is necessary. If you like to give and receive theraputic and spiritual bodywork, such as massage or Reiki, come join us. Each evening begins with a centering and relaxing meditation. Please plan to arrive at 7:00, so that we may begin with a guided meditation promptly at 7:30. Late arrival would be disruptive to the group once we begin, so the doors may be closed at that point.

Wednesday, April 9 YAG Spiritual Discussion
Topic: "Everyday Changes for a More Enjoyable Life: The Spirituality ofInteracting with Each Other" Think about a time, or times, in your life when something simple made you feel extraordinarily happy, centered, or alive in your everyday life. Perhaps this is something that another person shared with you, or something that you discovered on your own - maybe even something that you can share with others. If you are so willing, please re-tell your tale as we startour discussion.

Saturday, April 12 Volunteer at EarthWorks Have you ever planted beans in a Styrofoam cup? Or did you have a pet spider plant? Well, what about PLANTING TREES!?! Spring is arriving (disregard recent snow). So, in honor of the warmer weather, sun, and new green GROWTH,YAG will be volunteering with EarthWorks at McLaughlin urban wild (Roxbury). The work will involve tree planting (yippie!!!), invasive plant removal out, out darn aggressors!), and debris cleanup (yes, even trees like a bit of spring cleaning). We will be there from 9am ? 1pm. (Some flexibility is available if you have multiple events on Saturday...)Please wear sturdy boots, bring a light lunch or munchies, and dress for the weather. (We?re trying avoid sprained ankles, starvation, and chills?) Friday, April 18 Swing Dancing Come join me this Friday, April 18th, for a night of high energy fun- swing dancing at Swing City in Cambridge!! Beginners are more than welcome, and if you show up at 7:30, there are free beginner lessons until 8:30pm. Then there will be a live band playing from 8:30-12:30pm. The cost is $12 ($10 w/ student ID). And there may be some people from our groups that could even show you some basic moves. The dress is anything from casual to vintage. But if you expect on doing any amount of dancing, prepare to get sweaty, and plan accordingly! Also, it is helpful to wear shoes that you can spin in well on wooden floors (hiking boots or running sneakers that have lots of traction would be bad!). Check out http://www.wannadance.com/swingcity/sc_index/sc_index.html for more information.

Saturday, April 19 Potluck Yes, it's nearly that time! Time for Saturday potluck feasting - the weekend of Passover and Easter! So - come one, come all! Bring a dish to share and a smile (and maybe a few jelly bellies). Festivities will begin on Saturday at 7pm at the church. And seeing as the following morning SCORES of people will be descending upon coffeehour, please feel free to make some extra munchies to be left on Saturday night for those happy (and hungry) people on Sunday morning. Hope to see you all on Saturday! Kendra P.S. If you have egg-, bunny-, or chick-shaped jello molds, cookie cutters, or waffle makers, this weekend would be a good weekend to pull them out!

Saturday, April 19 Rocky Horror Picture Show This horror-camp extravaganza still draws midnight crowds. Its story of two dorky, all-American kids (Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon) who find themselves indoctrinated into the pansexual ways of Dr. Frank-N-Furter is no more outrageous than La Cage aux Folles, but only a curmudgeon would deny the magnetism of Tim Curry, whose lip-smacking rendition of "Sweet Transvestite" remains one of the high points in all of cult movies. Jim Sharman directs. (100m) Saturday midnight at the Harvard Square. (Drag is optional.)

Friday, May 2 Transitions Party Come celebrate with me for my leaving my dull desk job for a life on the farm. The party will involve dirt, mud, and pond water. (We'll be making terraniums, not wrestling) (well maybe if you want to). Please bring dirt meaningful to you and a glass jar and we'll combine it all to create our own little ecosystems. Playing with dirt is optional, but bring yourself no matter what (and snacks or drinks if you want). If you would like to celebrate your own transition, please contact me and we can plan together. Please contact Pete for directions and questions.
