Sunday services at FirstParish (3 Church Street, Harvard Square) start at 10:30, followed by a coffee hour. The Young Adult Group meets informally for lunch every Sunday after the coffee hour. This is an easy way to meet people and find out more about YAG. |

About the calendar These are currently planned young adult group and selected church wide events. Newcomers are always welcome to events. If you have any questions please contact the listed contact or youngadults@firstparishcambridge.org. The calendar is subject to change so check back here and watch the YAG announcement list. For more information on First Parish chuch wide events, visit the church's site. Interested in hosting an event? Please take quick read through how to host an event. Childcare is provided upon request with 10 days notice for events at the church. The church office provides a list of approved childcare providers. There is no charge to the parent. Hang out with other awesome women, hot cocoa, and cookies while talking about all the holiday stresses that are starting to get to you.... Good way to release some of it and remain centered as you head into shopping and family time! Hope to see you there :) Info below: INTERGENERATIONAL WOMEN'S DISCUSSION GROUP Date: Wednesday, November28th Time: 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm Location: THE PAINE ROOM (upstairs) Topic: The Holiday Squeeze Thanksgiving will be just behind us, and Christmas will be looming just ahead. What stresses do we cope with over the holidays. Which of those stresses bring hidden joys, and which stresses would we do without if we could? How do you cope with that ever-present holiday stress -- "SpendingTime With Family". Take a break from your holiday shopping in Harvard Square and gather with us for some conversation, hot cocoa and cookies :) Future topics for January and February are: Financial Planning - Are You Ready? and "The Beauty Backlash: 10 Years Later" - inspired by, but not exclusive to, the book The Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolf (No reading will be required). Friday, November 30 Letter Writing Bring your favorite pen and political opinion, and come write letters to politicians with the rest of us.

Saturday, December 1 Holiday Ballroom Bash The first annual First Parish Benefit Dance will be held at 7pm, Saturday, December 1, in our very own Stebbins Auditorium. We will learn how to "contra dance" and enjoy traditional folk music with a liveband. Come dressed up in festive party attire! Everyone is welcome to come celebrate the season and help us raise money for the First Parish operating fund. A gifts and talents auction will provide suspense and a special champagne reception will be held at 6pm to honor our generous sponsors. Sponsor tickets are available for $100. Regular tickets are available for $25 (adults) and $10 (youth 12-18). Kids under 12 get in free (child care provided). Please purchase tickets after services on Sunday throughout November. This will be a night to remember!

What qualities have you found most important in yourself and others to make these relationships successful? What has put your friendships "on the rocks" and what have you done about it? Do you have a "best friend"? Do you have a friendship that has evolved into different forms over time? Come and share your stories of your friendships. NEW FEATURE!!!! Wednesday, January 2 Intergenerational Men's Discussion Group To All Men of First Parish, The monthly Men's Discussion will be held this Wednesday, January 2, 2002, at 7:30 PM in the Barn Room. Our topic is "The ingredients of a fulfilling life." With the beginning of the new year, we certainly all, for a moment at least, think about resolutions and goals.
